3 weeks out. Feeling hungry quickly after eating
Some of it could be head hunger but it could be that you truly are hungry. Until you are eating more dense you may feel more hungry quicker. I honestly would cut out the melba toast. If you have room for anything other than protein then you should be eating more protein. The protein will stay with you longer than those carbs. You need to go by your doctor's/nuts food recommendations but you could try fish or cheese for more protein.
How far are you out from your surgery? I am at 3 mos post vertical gastric sleeve and have lost a total of 58 lbs. I find that my weight loss has slowed down drastically, only losing about 2-3 lbs per week. I started at 245 and am not at 187 being 5'10" tall. The doctor said this is normal especially if you are finding a shift in your body weight where clothes are getting bigger. Did you find this to be true? If so, what did you do to increase your weight loss?
I am 4.5 months and in month 3 I slowed weigh down. I am losing but it is slow and I am doing a lot of stair stepping. I need to get more protein which means drinking a shake and I have not been diligent about it. When I make sure i get my protein up around 80 grams I start losing again. I am trying to get to Onederland by May 9 and I have 5lbs to lose which has been hard. I had started exercising more and when you do that it affects your weight loss at first, then I will start dropping. My clothes are getting bigger so I know I am losing inches, I just still want to see those ONES. I probably need to eat more which in my mind is hard to do but something that my body wants and needs especially if I am keeping active.
I am almost 4 weeks out and I eat about every 3 hrs. (6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 8:30pm). Here are some typical meals for me. 1 scrambled egg or 6 oz of yogurt or 4 oz of a cream soup or 8oz Unjury protein shake made with milk. I stop drinking 15 min before I eat and do not start for 30 min after but otherwise I drink constantly.
Thanks,
I was 282 when I started the process in November of 2012. I lost 40 pounds prior to surgery through diet and exercise and 3 weeks of liquid diet.. yuk!. I left the hospital at 251 pounds after gaining some weight due to the fluids. I am very rigged on my diet the nutritionist gave me and I walk about 1 to 1.5 miles a day. Sometime I think I may reach my goal before I ever get to the stage where I can eat solids.
