My Incisions

Question I have been looking at my incision and starting to notice some white puss around 2 of them. I have showered because my doctor said I could, but I did not le****er or soap hit the direct spots. I'm just worried that it could be an issue. Has anyone else experienced this early out. I just had surgery on 10/14/13 and I want to make sure I'm doing everything right, because if have followed my discharge instructions to the tea. 

I had the same thing and it was nothing to worry about. Never be embarrassed to call your doctor"s office if something is worrying you. I was afraid I had an infection so I understand how you are feeling.

Sometimes dissolving stitches can present like that. Still worth the piece of mind to call your surgeons office and check.

Since it's been almost a year, I might be wrong but I believe I was told to wash them gently with a clean wash cloth and soap in my shower every day. You should call your doctors office to find out for sure, but I don't think washing them will hurt and it might just help.

I was told soap and water but no wash cloth just to wash with my clean hands

I did not have any puss but it would not hurt to call your doctor , did you take your temp and see if you have a fever, does the wound look red or feel hot ?

When it's yellow, green, or smelly is when u should worry.  You should be fine and are just healing

Thanks everyone! I don't have a fever and the only incision that hurts is the one right under my my breast area. They are not red or hot  but I'm still going to call my doctor first thing Monday morning! 

Are you sure it's puss?  If your incisions were glued, it could just be the glue aging and getting ready to fall off.
