7 days post op bathroom question
Hi,
7 days seems like a long time without a BM. I'd suggest calling the doctor and asking about it. He'll probably have you take something.
I've had to take miralax daily to keep me regular. Its pretty common to have this problem.
best wishes,
Carol

I had the opposite problem. Being on an all liquid diet those first few days... well, let's just say I had to move, move quick, and with little warning when I had to go.
Once I began soft foods, I had fewer BMs, but my training class suggested Benefiber. It can help with binding when BMs are too loose, and help in the other direction when they are few and far between. I mix it in my protein shake along with extra protein.

Beyond Goal
I am 1 week 6 days since my surgery. I can say that even though I was given Reglan to start my bowls moving again it did not help. I was so used to going multiple times a day that not going or only going once was strange. I do not believe I was bloated either. It will pass. I started drinking hot chocolate and it has helped but this has milk in it. You could probably go to a natural grocery store and look at the types of hot tea they have. Are you taking gas X? I have noticed a lot of people saying they are on that it could stop things up as well..... Good luck. If I hear or think of something else I will let you know.
