Sleeve narrowing

Has anyone ever experienced narrowing of the sleeve and have to fix it with a gastric bypass?

My EGD showed narrowing at the bottom. My surgeon said we could consider a dilation. I'd see if that works before you jump on a revision.

we have done dilation twice already with no help. Im just a little scared. This has been a nightmare. Both times the doc did dilation, he said it was so tight, he has somewhat of a hard time getting the tube through the narrow spot.

I've never heard of this! What would cause it to narrow?  I wish you luck in getting this resolved.

from what the Dr. explained to me, is that if the surgical assistant is not paying attention and is pulling too hard on your stomach, while the surgeon is stapling, it can cause too much of the stomach being removed and cause narrowing. Another thing is scar tissue. now the only way to fix it is a bypass. hopefully get it approved and done before christmas.

Interesting.. My upper GI and CT scan 3 mo after surgery didnt show narrowing. It didnt show up till 2 years out. I wonder if mine could be scar tissue. My surgeon didnt offer that as a possibility.

I hope every thing works out!

Personally, I'd get a second opinion before I'd do the bypass. Is the same surgeon doing this surgery?   Do your research.   Good luck

This is my second opinion. The first one said I had pyloric stenosis from a damaged vagal nerve during surgery. He was going to permanently open the pyloris but I would have dumping syndrome from then on. I had my surgery done in Mexico. Thanks. I'm just ready for it to be over and get past the liquid part of the surgery.
