Surgery tomorrow! 60lbs down in a year, 95 from my highest weight, with pics!
Hi everyone,
Please wish me luck tomorrow. I wanted to share my progress pictures because I'm so proud of how far I've come. I wasn't always the best at taking them this year, so they are really frequent in 2011 and not so much this year.
I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes in 2011. I am 5'7" and my highest weight was 432. I was so miserable and uncomfortable--eating so much, yet starving all the time. Only with getting my blood sugar under control have I been able to get my appetite under control. I cannot do carbs except veggies. Just can't. It's a bad idea for me.
Over the years since, I have lost 95lbs on a high fat, adequate protein diet. 60 of those have come off in the last year. I have backslid at times over the years, and those backslides made me realize I need help to lose the next 150lbs. I also lifted weights and did a lot of walking. I feel really determined and resilient right now, and ready.
(Nervous as all get out, too.)
Please send healing thoughts my way tomorrow. This forum has been so helpful for me! Thank you all for sharing your experiences.
Eliza,
You are truly showing serious commitment and sincere motivation. This process is going to change your life! I am sending good karma your way and keeping my fingers crossed that this puts your diabeties in remission!
