Six month surgiversary with comparison pics
Wow! Six months has absolutely flown by! My surgiversary was July 27, but I forgot to write a post.
These past six months have been invaluable. I actually had my first physical since surgery yesterday and my doctor was so proud of me. We talked a lot about serious illness in my family, and she this was probably the single-most important decision I could have made for my health, and I agree. Just within my mom and her sisters, they have had colon cancer, breast cancer, and cervical cancer. My mom has heart and lung disease, and I have relatives on both sides that are diabetic.
My three month labs were great, but the six month labs that were drawn yesterday will give me a better picture. I've been good with taking my vitamins, drink at least 100-120oz of water a day, and reaching my protein. I do try to stay under 40 carbs/day, but have gotten lax with that. Time to buckle down to make it to goal!
I started at a size 20/22, and am currently a size 12 in pants, M-L in shirts, and a 36D from a 40-42 D-DD. Down 80 lbs, and hoping to lose 25 more.
I was looking for older pics on my phone last night to compare with pics from now, and I was surprised at the difference. And I was sad for the "old" me. I feel so good now, I don't ever want to go back to being that girl.
The before picture is of me in January, right before my surgery. I had just graduated from my second nursing program :-)
The after pictures are from me yesterday.
