300.5 total pounds lost!  You read that right...As of today, I have lost a total of 300.5 freaking pounds!!!!!  Stepping on the scale this morning was amazing and emotional.  When I began my journey, the idea I could lose 300+ pounds was overwhelming.  But then again, the fact that I weighed 447 was more overwhelming.

I have learned so much about myself during "The Incredible Shrinking Me" phase.  I am so much stronger than I ever gave myself credit for.  I have learned that it doesn't matter what others think, eat or do.  My priority is ME!  I want to get to goal like nobody's business and by golly. I am freaking going to make it.

I eat what I NEED nutritionally. I am not anyone's food police but my own.   I won't lie, losing this amount of weight has not been easy or fun.  I made the decision on the day I started losing weight (as a pre-op) that I was never going achieve my goals by giving nothing less than 100% commitment.  And so, I have been on plan 100% - 100% of the time from day one of pre-op weight loss phase.  Have I wanted to "loosen up" and eat things that weren't going to ensure my weight loss kept moving in a steady downward pattern after surgery?  You bet!  Did I act on those desires?  HECK NO!!!!

Can a former super, super morbidly obese person (my BMI used to be 84.5) find success with the VSG?  You bet!  I am right here.

Discipline is remembering what you want and not straying from the path that will lead you to your desired outcome.

I read your post and have no words. None. I'm tearing up just typing this. What you have done stirs my soul. I wish I could take your hand, stare into your eyes and feel for a fleeting moment the strength and stamina you hold within to accomplish what you've done.
