Loose skin, other than surgery, how do you deal with it?

I'm almost 6 months post op and I have done great with my weight loss. The only problem is that my loose skin is really obvious when I wear clothes that fit. I do have suction undergarments but does anyone have any recommendations on what to do for the loose skin other than surgery. While that is in the plans for a couple years down the road what helps now?

get a bra fitting so the ladies are supported and contained well, some spanx, a shirt/dress with some sleeve, and whatever else jiggles...let it jiggle with pride b/c you lost a lot of weight.

There isn't much you can do besides support garments, dressing the body you have, and keeping your skin healthy.  Healthy skin has the best chance at bouncing back if that is going to happen at all.

My plan is mainly to not care about it.  I'm so proud of myself for losing this weight and I refuse to hate on my body any minute longer than I already have.

This may or may not work for you!

I hope it didn't sound like I hate my body, because that isn't what I meant in the least. Like you I am really proud of what I have lost and how far I have come. I love that I can get into sizes I don't ever remember wearing I just don't like how clothes fit because it's uncomfortable. I've also had 2 kids so my belly is more stretched out than just what I did to it before with my excessive weight.

Oh no, you didn't sound like you hate your body - that's just how I feel about the loose skin issue for myself.

I know what you are saying. I am almost 6 months out and the skin has become drastically more obvious! And with even small amounts of weight loss, the skin seems looser on a daily basis. I try to focus on the healthy body underneath it. I just ordered some shape wear and I'm thankful it is fall!!  Arms covered!

I just feel like when I put on a pair of pants I have this weird loose skin that presses against my legs and just feels gross. I'm not worried about my arms or anything - I let my kids play with them, it's hilarious. I'm just physically uncomfortable.

For the longest time I figured shapeware and 3/4 sleeves would be my BFFs.  And they were.  Then the hot weather came that first year I was a normal size, and a few wonderful trips, and suddenly I decided I didn't care, at least about my flappy arms and thighs.  I frolicked in a bathing suit on a sailing trip in the Grenadines - on a singles trip, no less.  I walk the dog in my jeans shorts and a sleeveless top. Anybody who doesn't like it can GFT's, is how I roll, haha! I still do shapeware for the flappy torso, if I'm wearing something fitted.  But most of the time, especially right now, I'm wearing sleeveless stuff and shorts.  I could do plastic surgery financially, but no interest in further submitting myself to the medical establishment voluntarily.  The sleeve surgery went exceedingly well, and I don't want to push my luck.

Did anyone try using any of the firming lotions?  did it make any difference?  I'm adding that to my regimen now, but it smells weird so I'll drop it if it is not worth the trouble :-)

The only difference those will make is to your pocketbook. :(
