Vitamins?

The one downside to having surgery in Mexico is not having all the followup.

So, what do you have to take? I know a multivitamin, but what else? How often? How much?

And how do I get rid of the two tickers at the bottom?

The best guide, in my opinion, is from the ASMBS -- http://asmbs.org/resources/integrated-health-nutritional-gui delines

This link has an extrapolated chart of what VSGers should take -- http://thebypassedlife.com/asmbs-vitamin-recommendations/

And here's more info -- http://bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com/2012/08/foodie-sentials- what-vitamins-should.html

I take a high quality multi every day, 1500mg of calcium CITRATE (in three doses spread 2 hours apart from each other), iron, and B-12.  I also take some other stuff based on my own lab results.

I started off with these:

#1 Multi, Calcium 500mg, Vitamin D 5000IU, B-12 1000mcg (every other day)
#2 Calcium, Vitamin K 500mcg
#3 Multi, Calcium, Vitamin D
#4 Iron 18mg, Vitamin C 500mg

Do NOT take Flinstones just because they're chewable.  They, and most children's chewables, are woefully incomplete.

I figure vitamin deficiency is worse than taking a few pills every day.  It's a small price to pay to be healthy!

My center told us the story of one patient years ago who didn't take her B12.

She ended up with permanent brain damage.

It really is a small price to pay; it's oh-so-important to take your vitamins.
