That's bordering eating disorder type behavior. The desire to do that is the result of a mental craving - we have to learn to manage our cravings and not let them control us.

I follow many people on Instagram and I have seen 3 people post that they have done this.

Personally I wouldn't need this surgery if I can manage my cravings and I sometimes think I'm not ready mentally, we're basically going cold turkey post op.

If you're not seeing a therapist already, you should consider adding one to your team.  You don't have to go it alone.

It's an addictive behavior, which means that while you might be losing weight you still have not dealt with the psychological issues surrounding your obesity. People who don't work on the mental aspects of the surgery are at a higher risk for regain and generally continue to have lots of problems surrounding their relationship with food. It's worth it to do the work!

A VSG patient who does you tube videos (can't remember name..sorry)

Was doing that..if I remember correctly it was a concern for her, but

she found it the only way to control the cravings.

Why wouldn't you chew and swallow a small bit of whatever it is instead of spitting it out?
