Fitbit Shopping advice?
So I was looking around online for this Fitbit thing everyone's always talking about. I would like to get one, but I'm so lost on these things. I'm seeing Fitbit Flex, Fitbit One, Fitbit Zip...I don't know which one to get!! What do they all do? I don't want to spend a ton of money but at the same time I don't want to get something that isn't going to help me other than being a pedometer either. What are your recommendations?
I use, and love, the fitbit one. The flex is worn around the wrist. The zip is very basic, and sleep can't be tracked with it. I wear my one clipped into my bra, it's small and basically weightless - but I feel naked without it.
Fitbit syncs w/My Fitness Pal (if you use that) or they have their own site where you can log food, sleep, etc. You can have friends there and do competitions for who has the most steps weekly.
Fitbits are great!
I also use the Fitbit One....and clip it in my bra. I was amazed when I tracked my sleep. I woke up so many times and never really went into a deep sleep mode. I love the way it syncs with My Fitness Pal.
I have the flex and love it!! I also have there scale, the Aria. I love technology and I really like how it all syncs together. Yes the flex goes in your wrist so it's definitely noticeable, but you can get different color bands so I can attempt to somewhat match what I have on. But I do like that I can tell I'm losing weight from my wrists because when I first got it, I could only put it on the last notch on the large band, now I'm at least 3 notches in!
I have the Flex and love it. When I forget to put it on, which isn't often, I could kick myself because I am not getting my steps counted and the people on my friends list are passing me up LOL

If you're a hand talker and wave your hands around when you talk to people... I don't recommend any sort of tracker that is worn on the wrist, because sitting around and moving your arms around gets logged as steps. I have the one that clips to your belt/bra/etc and it's nice. I especially like being able to set little alarms that vibrate because I use those to remind me to keep drinking water throughout the day (since I suck at that).
Oh my gosh! I am totally a hand-talker, didn't even think about it logging steps :(

I use Vivofit because I do a lot of water aerobics. I can wear it in the pool or shower and never take it off. I especially learned a lot from the sleep tracking. I thought I sleep 8 hours and night, and now realize that it is only 5-1/2 hours of sleep. Vivofit also has a battery that lasts about a year and does not have to be taken off and charged.
I have never had steps counted from moving my hands with Vivofit. If you chose one that you wear on your wrist, you also need a bitbelt type of device to make sure it does not fall off. An o-ring from the hardware store or a bread wrapper twist will also work, but too many people have lost their devices when the band comes loose.
