Can I eat chile after sleeve?
I'm having surgery 10/7 and in all of the last year or so researching Sleeve info, it never occurred to me to ask: Can I eat chile after the sleeve? I don't mean beans and meat Texas kind of chili, I mean jalapenos, green chiles, red chile. I live in New Mexico where we eat and love our chile. I just want to know if I'm going to have to give this up after sleeve? My hope is, only for the first couple of months or so while it's healing because of the spiciness I'd imagine but after that I'm good, right?
*please say yes please say yes please say yes*
I'm so glad you like our chile!!! I've lived here my whole life and couldn't imagine life without chile! We bought ours last week and peeled and froze it for use all year. People think it's weird when I tell them we have a freezer in the garage dedicated to green chiles! But, if it comes down to it, I'll give it up if I have to.
Keep your fingers crossed!!!!!
So excited to hear all the comments about chile! I love salsa with my eggs. Guess I won't be able to eat tamales after surgery. I just have to make some just for me without the masa (corn meal). The pork with hatch chile will be enough for me. Good luck Yolanda and enjoy your chile! PS: I have a freezer filled with hatch chiles too. I roasted and froze them for the winter.
Had green chile stew for dinner tonight (made with ground turkey). It was definitely on the hot side and it was fine. I also live in NM. I didn't try chile until after 3 months, maybe even 6 months. But it seems to do fine for me.
Good luck to you with your surgery! Where are you doing it?
Oh Paula, I've just finished day 4 of my 2 week preop liquid diet and I'm so jealous of you and your green Chile stew!
Even though there is a bariatric center here in Albuquerque my insurance is sending me to Del Sol Bariatrics in El Paso. I don't mind though because it's getting done either way
Where in NM are you? Rio Rancho here.
