2-day Pre op Clear Liquid diet

Surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, and I started my clear liquids today (I have been on full liquids for 12 days).  I tried the isopure clear drink this morning (fruit punch) and yuck, it's gross.  Then I just tried the Unjury chicken protein, and I took one sip and had to throw it away.  What do I do?  I can't stomach either (the isopure is better than the Unjury chicken), and I thought I had prepared myself well.

Anyone have any ideas of what I can try for the next two days and week 1 post op that are better?

Are you allowed to do regular chicken broth?  I didn't have to do clear liquids, I did shakes right up to the day before surgery.  But I know what you mean I cannot eat the chicken protein either.  I am two weeks post op and eat broth and creamed soups.  Probably not being much help :( Good luck with your surgery.

chicken ,beef or vegetable broth, sf jello,sf ice pops, water with a sf flavoring if you choose. These items are on a traditional clear liq diet. It doesn't have to be protein items.

I was able to tolerate the UNJURY chicken broth by adding one packet of chicken bullion to it...I used about 1-1/2 cups of water.  Good luck :)

My lifesaver was very low sodium chicken broth from any grocery store.

Thanks everyone!   I was just trying to get used to the clear proteins for next week, but I will focus on liquids in general.  I had a popsicle and regular chicken broth this evening.

Great work!

You should be really proud of that.  And have inspired me ahead of my pre-op diet. I have my general 4 weeks before info, but not the last couple of days or fasting details yet. (eek)

I've been testing out protein drinks (to at least get an idea) and the Isopure green tea one is really good.  Leaves a little bit of cotton mouth but it was good.  Good luck!

If you want to try Isopure after your surgery today (congratulations!), I would suggest putting a Crystal Lite pack in it. I think I used 16 oz of the Isopure for 1 pack of CL and it tasted so much better.
