So once again, blue cross blue shield has refused to pay for something else during this process. I had my labs done a few weeks ago and yesterday I got a bill from labcorp for $1000+. Shouldn't insurance conver lab work? I've never gotten a bill for lab work before? Has anyone else had their insurance refuse payment during their WLS process?

Is labcorp in network?  I would call BCBS and find out why.  It may be coding errors.  Dealing with insurance is the toughest part of this process.  I was vigilant to make sure that everything and everyone billing me was in network before hand.

Hopefully you can get this straightened out.  If they still refuse to pay, negotiate with labcorp for a lower amount.  Quest billed BCBS about $2000 for my last set of labs.  BCBS ended paying less than $200.  I was not responsible for the rest as it was a negotiated discount by BCBS.

Are you sure it's an actual bill and not just a "this is what we're submitting to your insurance" letter?

I'd call your insurance company to ask about your benefits and I'd call labcorp to make sure they actually submitted to insurance.

have you met your deductible?

I wouldn't pay a bill without matching it up with the EOB from BCBS.  Call and talk to BSBC and the lab - there could be a coding error.
