Foodie Alert: Protein Beverage Recipe
I know many of us are always looking at ways to get our protein and water in daily. I modified one of my favorite fancy summer beverage recipes and this is what I came up with.
Protein Laden Basil Lemonade
- boil together large bunch of basil leaves with 5 packets of Splenda and 3 cups water for 5 minutes
- allow to sit for 20 minutes
- strain liquid in a mesh strainer, making sure to press basil leaves to get all of the aromatic stuff in
- whisk in 5 scoops of roadside lemonade protein powder into basil mixture
- zest and peel thin strips of 10 lemons and then juice all 10 lemons
- mix together 6 cups of water with steeped basil/Splenda water
- add lemon zest and rind peels and extra basil leaves for color
Add more water/Splenda to desired taste. Die of tastebud pleasure!
