gauging how much to eat

I am six weeks out from surgery and still have trouble gauging how much to eat. is there a method to this?

I use a kitchen scale to measure everything.

Next Goal 145 - normal BMI | Total Weight Lost 170

Yeah, a measuring cup and a kitchen scale work great for me. Also table spoons and I keep a deck of cards in my mind as well for volume of meat, fish, chicken, especially when I eat out.

Don't gauge. Weigh or measure.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.

Ultimately it's about where volume and nutrition meet.

Dense meats is best to weigh because it is so dense and nutritional calculations are done by weight...... everything else by volume, your stomach was sized for volume and does not read weight.

Always under eat your capacity !!!! Eating till full is how most of us got fat !
