Day 4 and feeling great, thanks to my husband!!!

I was sleeved Monday and I went home from the hospital Tuesday. My husband has been wonderful!!!  I felt horrible and I had a ton of gas pain in my chest after surgery. As the hospital staff was taking me to my room I was asking to go for a walk (during the few seconds I was awake) because I knew walking was the only way to solve my pain. After a few hours of observations they let me go for a walk with my hubby. He held my hand and walked at my snail speed. :0)  I was nervous about peeing because I didn't know if I could bend enough to wipe, but everything was fine, just a little tenderness when I bent over.  Tuesday I started drinking 30cc every hour. My husband set an alarm and he took complete control of getting me my liquids and my medicine. I was nauseated Monday and Tuesday, but I was fine once I got home Tuesday. I have had some indigestion, but overall everything goes down fine. Wednesday I had 30cc every 20 minutes. We found a protein powder called Syntrax Nectar. It is good in chocolate and lemonade. There is 0 fat and 0 sugar.  The powder mixes so well we have been making a very condensed version so I can easily get my protein in (don't shake it, just us a spoon to mix). We use 1 scoop (23 grams of protein) with 3 ounces of water. My husband mixes it but it is not clumpy and has a great taste and I get 23g of protein in 3-4 30cc cups.  I weighed Wednesday morning and I gained 5 lbs during the surgery and recovery (I guess all the IVs), but I am confident I am about to begin my great weight loss.  I have a lot of tenderness in my stomache when I bend or get up, but that is about all the pain I am having. We drove 1 hour to my parents house for Thanksgiving. I am truly not hungry and I even carved the turkey (as I always do). I sat with my family for Thanksgiving lunch with my 30cc cup of lemonade protein shake. I would have loved to eat, but I know it will all be worth it!!!  I could not ask for 4 better days and I hope I continue to improve.  I attribute 100% of my success to my surgeon, Drew Howard, and my wonderful husband!   I am very thankful this Thanksgiving!!! 😃. Thanks Mom and Dad for making all of this a possibility and thank you to my brother for being the loving push that I needed to change my life.

So happy to hear things are going so well.  I'm doing pretty darn good too!  The thing that cracks me up the most is the tummy growls.  SOO loud!  I've never heard anything like it.

Congratulations on your sleeve! You are very blessed to have a very supportive husband. Glad to hear you like the Syntrax. I'm having surgery next week and ordered some Syntrax online. I know that I'll be missing out on all the delicious foods during Christmas. But the way I'll look at it is that its not like I won't ever be able to enjoy future Christmas feasts. Just not this year. I'm very happy for you and please keep us posted on your progress. Would love to keep in contact with how you're doing. Christine
