No longer Obese!

We've had a really rough week. My MIL passed away on Monday afternoon at the young age of 67 after a short battle with cancer and the family is reeling. Hubby and I, along with my sister-in-law, my father-in-law, and Hubby's aunt were at her side. Even in all the insanity this week as we sort out details, I've worked hard to focus on protein first and trying to get in all my water. I never realized how hard those are to do when your 'regular' routine is disrupted!

Yesterday morning, I got on the scale as I do every morning. For the first time in 30+ years, I saw a number that meant that I was NO LONGER OBESE! OMG. I was so excited, I called Hubby and cried. He was so happy for me.

I'm down from a size 22/24 to size 10/12 and medium clothing. I'm still terrified to shop (years of shopping at two stores has totally brainwashed me and I automatically reach for the biggest sizes). I'm stunned to see collarbones and shape. I didn't know I had a defined waistline. No joke. It's kinda scary.

This journey has been spectacular. Quite amazing really. Boggles the mind.

But how I wish my MIL were going to be with us when I reach the end. RIP Nicole. You are loved and you are missed.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.  I'm glad you were able to be with her, but still, I'm so sorry.  Cancer is a punk and I hate it.

But congrats on being overweight!  That's a super huge accomplishment and I hope you're proud.  I know that your MIL would be proud of you :)

What a supportive DH you have, he could find joy in a very sad tIme for all of you.

Nice work on keeping yourself focused on your nutrition under that very stressful situtation and it sounds like you are ready to peruse the isles of Winners to pick yourself up some hip, form fitting duds.

I am so sorry for your loss but really so glad you were all able to be with her.

Very happy for your accomplishment-that's the way life goes, the bitter with the sweet. Hope you have many sweet times ahead.
