Restriction?

I am still on full liquids for another week, taking PPI and get my 64 oz fluid and about 60g protein a day currently. I have not felt hunger since surgery, sometimes I even forget to eat. My question is when I do eat (soup or shake, etc) - I feel zero restriction and am able to consume quickly. I try so hard to eat slowly but it doesn't hurt and it's a hard habit to break but I am getting better.

Will I start to feel restriction when I eat puréed foods??? I know I have read that the nerves were severed and that can contribute - but when will I feel the effects of the surgery. I am eating 3 oz food at a time but I eat rather quickly - if I don't feel full is this harmful? What are your tricks to slowing the shovel down! How long should it take to finish 3oz liquid?

I am 12 days out RNY and I don't have the restriction with fluids either.  I find it easy to get my 64 0z in and my 60 oz 0f protein through shakes.  I am worried the same.  I hope when I start eating I will start to feel full and that me drinking my liquids hasn't harmed my pouch.  I try to drink them slowly but I know I am drinking more then 2 oz of water in 30 min even with drinking it slowly.  I haven't necessarily felt hungry either except for head hunger due to holidays

I didn't start to feel restriction until I got to solids. Liquids will flow right through our functional pyloric valves.

I think I either had a lot of swelling, or I'm just a wimp because I hurt every time I swallowed anything for the first 6 weeks, and with some foods even longer. Actual restriction didn't come until soft solids.

I haven't had surgery yet but this topic is a concern to me as well. My dietician told me that I will never be able to drink water with my meal again and will never be able to drink a glass of water at one time again. I LOVE water and can easily drink a large glass 3-4 times a day which I know I am going to have to stop. Sipping all day will be a challenge for me!  Thanks for posting this question. Very helpful to read these entries!

Drinking fluids with meals is always a no no.  I drin****il I start eating then wait an hour after I finish to start drinking again.

You should be able to drink larger quantities of water over time, but be patient until your stomach completely heals. I can down 8-10 ounces of water now without any problems.
