I realize I can ask my doctor this question, but I bet someone on here knows the answer. Is everyone's sleeve the same size near their surgery date. I have surgery Tuesday.

PS.....I'm getting skerd!

My doctor said that taller people usually have more capacity because there stomach is naturly longer.

Nothing to be scared about, this is very routine surgery. I'm three months out and down 76 total!

check out this old post on sleeve size

most sleeves are now done between 32f and 38f but some surgeons make them bigger

small sleeves tend to have more problems unless you have a great surgeon (leaks ,problems eating and drinking )

large sleeve let you eat more so you may lose slower

I have a 34f that is loose and I never had any problems but Im a slow loser but I still have lost over 100 lb since surgery

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on sleeve size.  My doctor used a 40 and I had no trouble either losing weight or maintaining.  In all cases, the stomach size is greatly reduced and the surgery really works!

best wishes,

Carol

You will likely (eventually) get a snotstorm started here with this question. I am up in the 40's and 6'2'' tall... so for sure with the extra height and large size my capacity should be more than my smaller sleeved colleagues. My restriction is absolutely perfect for me. Plenty of restriction, no issue getting to goal, 3 years out as of today and still under goal. Can I eat a lot? Yes, if it is carbs/sliders. But, I am completely confident that this would be the same with a smaller sleeve as well. If, like anyone sleeved, eat dense protein and green leafy greens I am good to go! The benefit of my size sleeve is that I can eat a very small adult portion, so in instances that I don't want to draw attention to what I am eating (an issue for me) I can manage a "normalish" meal. No heartburn, no side effects. Couldn't be happier!

Well...I certainly did not think my question would start a snotstorm! Haha! I did not realize until today by reading another post that there was even different sizes. I was just trying to confirm.....sorry.
