12 days post op! Not sure when I should feel restriction but I can drink more fluids than I thought at a time. I'm starting on purees and had a few bites (3-4) of chilli didnt feel a restriction just some pain in my stomach after eating it and some acid reflux. Maybe the pain was the sign of restriction? idk

Many people farther out than me say they didn't feel restriction until they ate solid food.  Some say around  week four...

I think most people (including myself) didn't feel restriction until solid foods. Some stomach pain can be a sign of restriction. They cut your nerves during surgery and it takes a while for them to heal again.

Don't go by feeling. Go by the portion size your surgeon gave you. I eat my 3 oz and stop and eat again 3 hours later.  If you go by feeling or a full sensation you can over eat. Some people can comfortably eat way more than they should.

My surgeon suggests 3-4 oz but I eat under that maybe 2 oz at the most while using a baby spoon.

Sounds like we are about on the same page. I had mine on the 17th. I don't feel restriction  either but, from what everyone says we get that later on. I just started the soft/pureed food. I usually just weigh my food. Although to be honest, I haven't ventured to far. I have had a bite or two of apple sauce, 3/4 oz of cheese, and scrambled eggs 1-2 oz.  I tried a bite of mashed potatoes, more then likely NOT what I was suppose to eat. It didn't sit well, felt like I had swallowed a rock. So I was glad it was only one bite.

I had a hard time at first because I had a hernia repair also and it made it hurt to swallow. Ironic the things I thought I'd miss, I don't. I would like to chug a large bottle of cold water though!

Most of us don't start to feel restriction until a) we're healed and b) we're eating solid foods.  This is why it's super important to measure everything you eat to make sure you don't eat too much and damage yourself.
