Observations and Thoughts

So I'm one of those people that weigh myself every other day (sometimes everyday) to keep myself honest.  I left one week ago today for Chicago on a business trip and took customers with me.  In the past this would have been a booze filled, steak house hoping, festival.  So I returned on Tuesday and didn't weigh myself until this morning.  Down 1.9# since last Saturday.  I was hoping just to have not gained.

Its incredible what moderation helps you accomplish.  I still drank (too much) but not out of control.  Dinner at Tavern on Rush (filet mignon), Morton's (NY Strip) and Timothy O'Toole's (Cobb Salad).  I had a quesadilla's for a couple of lunches and even had my first piece of pizza since August (the original Uno's).

I got in almost 10,000 steps everyday and 14,000 one day.  It feels great to know I can still do things in my life and not have it wreck all of the work I have done.  Its funny how guilty I felt which help the whole moderation thing.

I'm at 226 pounds today and 9 more pounds and I will be the weight I was when I graduated from college in 1982.  Funny the little milestones we hit along the way!  Keep up the good fight all!

You just showed how possible it is to enjoy life (including food) to the fullest without undermining your health.

BTW, it's an impossibility to go to Chicago and not have at least one slice of pizza. Best in the world.

HI Dan!

That is really awesome. Isn't it funny that when you are with clients they expect these sort of things and if you didn't participate you would be some kind of pariah. But steak houses like you visited are great for low carb sleevers, just skip the sides and stick to straight booze!
