Fasting test....This blows already

So in preparing for the 3 day liquid diet, I am fasting today so I can get my blood work done, pre-surgery requirement.

This sucks already! Just pumping the water in today, all day, get my blood work done around 6pm today.

I also have my last nutrition visit today, yee haw, getting closer to 2/10!

3 days of liquid diet is going to suck but at least I can do clear soups and such, I think that will help me make it.

This ONLY WATER all day sucks big time.

LOL - loved the subject line! :)  Yup, all liquids before surgery does suck.  My first thought was that you were going to be in for a rude awakening after surgery when you're stuck on liquids for a while, but here's the great thing about this surgery -  I know it seems unimaginable right now, but physical hunger seems to pretty much disappear. I'm a little over a year out, and if I had to do liquids today it wouldn't be a big deal at all.  I might whine a little if someone was eating something that I wanted a taste of, but I would not feel raging hunger. It's wonderful! Hang in there, and congrats on your upcoming surgery!

Hi Jack,

Yes, this stinks and there will be other speed bumps but it will be worth it!  I went out and bought a punching bag and hung it up in my basement and smacking that bag around through out my weight loss and after really helped me deal with the stress and frustrations. Try it, you may like it!

We look forward to your updates!

As with colonoscopies, the preparation before the procedure is worse than the procedure itself

The liquid diet sucks donkey balls, especially for the first few days.   Just white knuckle through it and remember why you're doing it.  You aren't giving up food FOREVER.  This is just a step in the right direction for better health.  Hang in there!
