having a hard time getting in fluids and protein, pushing is painful advice?

I was having that problem too and we had surgery on the same date. I tried drinking different things like sugar free lemonade rather than jus****er. As for the protein, I have tried my protein shakes with soy milk to make them taste better. Oh yeah, the pain-- take suuuuuper small sips. Hopefully this will help!!!

Experiment with different liquids and different temps.  Some people have a better time with luke warm crystal light, or hot tea, or warm broth.  Experiment until you find something that works for you.  Set a timer to go off every 15 minutes and drink an ounce or two.

I had surgery on 4/20. This is probably the worst way to go but by about day 4, I was so nauseated by the isopure and protein shots that I just started to focus on liquids. I am drinking a lot of broth and herbal teas. I also am straining the liquid from Cambell's Chicken noodle soup and drinking that. The warm liquids go down so much easier. I also find it so much easier to just sip from a normal cup. When I tried to sip from anything else, I get a lot of air bubbles. I get to start full liquids tomorrow and I'm so excited to actually get some protein in again. Good Luck. This was by far the hardest part of this whole procedure.
