2 Weeks Post-Op Update

As of today I'm officially 2 weeks post-op.  It's funny - it seems like we work for months and months to get the surgery and then you blink, you are past it and 2 weeks post-op.  I'm on the pureed stages and doing well.  I've been able to tolerate everything so far, so that's been a plus.

I've lost 13 lbs total post-op as of this morning.  I've lost over 70 when you combine my supervised wl program, pre-op and post-op success.  I started in a size 20 (heading into a 22) in October and over the weekend transitioned into a size 14 already.  I'm thrilled with the progress so far.  I lost 12 lbs my first week post-op and just 1 additional since.  However, given the fine bit of education I've received on this site, I'm not worrying.  Seriously, I'm eating about 300-400 calories a day, getting in 90-100 oz in water, so really the weight has no choice but to come off.  My body, from experience, just doesn't like when I drop a big number.  It makes me wait a week or two to really get things going again.  I know this and because of that, I'm good.

I also decided to sign up for Stitch Fix today.  I'm not having it start until the end of May, but I'm excited to try different things that I normally wouldn't buy.  I'm a creature of habit and wear what I call my "uniform" which is always jeans, shirt, sweater.  Of course color and patterns do vary, but that's my uniform and I'm ready to break out into different things.

Thanks again for the continued support.  I can only hope to be as helpful moving forward to others as all of you have been to me.

Onward!

You're rocking it, I had no doubt that you wouldn't rock it! You prepared yourself really well! Way to go, I can't wait to see how the rest or your journey goes!

I LOVE STITCH FIX!! Okay, maybe I'm a little obsessed! Lol I wore my skinny ankle TURQUOISE pants from stitch fix yesterday and I got a ton of compliments! I would have never wore turquoise or ankle pants before and now I have like six pairs of ankle pants/jeans!

I have always loved clothes and fashion, but now I feel like I can really dress the way I want to!

Thank you! I remember you saying you signed up. I'm so glad you like it so far. I'm ready to try new things - just need to be pushed I guess. Do you find the pricing reasonable?

I just got my third fix and I could have kept four out of the five pieces....only kept two. I think they are a bit pricey, but I justify that with me buying the rest of my clothes at Old Navy, Target, Wal-Mart (obsessed with their boyfriend jeans, best fit I have found and only $14.88) & Ann Taylor Loft (only when the loft has 40% off the entire store). If anything they show me how to mix my wardrobe and I can find the same pieces cheaper at other stores. You'll have to let me know how it goes for you!

I also love Stitch Fix!  I emailed them before I signed up about my life changes and that I'm trying to figure out what my style is - and I got an amazing reply.  I've really enjoyed my fixes so far and just wish I could justify buying more things.

I worry that I'll want to keep everything!! I just want to have pieces that I feel good about while I lose. What do you think of the pricing?

Since I'm using it for a few things here and there, I find the pricing to be pretty great.  I've gotten good quality pieces - a spring jacket, a super comfy t-shirt, and two beautiful dresses.  (I've gotten three fixes so far, my 4th is due on the 6th.)  As I work with my stylist more, I've gotten better things that fit me better and work better for my body.  I update my measurements and sizes before every fix, just in case.

I think if I kept all 5 pieces each month, with the discount, I'd be paying $200-300.

I'd definitely pass on jeans while you're losing, though.  I can get jeans at Old Navy for infinitely cheaper. But it's nice to try on the pricey designer jeans that Stitch Fix sends and have them fit! :D
