I've had problems with constipation all my life. Stool softeners help, but they don't make me go, just ease to event. Prune juice as an infant only helped so much, hot liquids aren't much relief and milk of m. works ok, but still not that quick. Any other suggestions for more regular relief?

Have you tried Miralax?  It's a non-stimulant, non-addicting laxative.  I use it most every morning in my breakfast shake.

you might want to talk to your surgeon or a gastroenterologist  there are prescription drugs that may help you

I find that 2 cups of  regular coffee a day helps most of the time
