This may sound strange, but I'm worried that I may have lifted too much while doing things around the house yesterday. I'm 2 week post op. This morning I woke up sore and with a stomach ache.  Not a bad one though.

It's just that I've been feeling so good and full of energy, but have no idea what to do with myself.

Does the soreness and stomach ache indicate damage?

I'm wondering what you do when you have excess energy. My life is/was pretty isolated.

Thanks

It could - you probably have a lifting limit right now.  Like no more than 10 pounds?  Be careful and keep an eye on the pain.  If it gets worse, call your surgeon.

I went for a LOT of walks when I was newly post-op.  Now I do a lot of exercise and fitness classes.  This was way out of my comfort zone when I started, but I've kept with it and am so glad I did!

At about 3-4 weeks post op, I felt so good I didn't take the usual precautions to protect my abdomen that I normally would have (I was twisting in bed to ge****er off my bedside table, bending to do laundry/dishes) which made my abdomen feel really sore. Two weeks post-op is still pretty fresh, baby yourself as long as possible! I had a 5 pound lifting restriction for 6 wks. If its just sore from straining yourself too much, it most likely isn't anything to worry about....sharp stabbing pain would not be normal.

I would say as long as you are not running fever or in server pain you probably just did to much. When I was 2 weeks post op I picked up my 4yr old without thinking and re-injured the nerve in my left side. VERY PAINFUL. After a few weeks, and several pain patches later, it got better. My advice would be if you are really worried call you DR. peace of mind is everything. Also take is easy rest and put a heating pad on stomach. That is what helped me the most. Hope you feel better soon. Good Luck.
