This is something I do quite often.....

Learn to buy "parts"...

The market down the street has a "burrito bar" and I sometimes just buy the meat by weight.

This is the shredded pork over my quick slaw..... cabbage, mayo/greek yogurt and ponzu.

Great lunch today and on point !!!

Ponzu is soy sauce with added citrus, either lemon or lime.

It's a pretty common item at major grocery stores these days next to the soy sauce.

You can also just add a squeeze of lemon or lime to soy sauce and get the same thing.

It is very versatile and I use it on a whole bunch of things.

The taqueria down the street lets me buy just the meat as a side. It's a great way for me to get the flavor I'm wanting without having to deal with all the stuff I don't really want. And it's way cheaper than buying a plate and just eating the meat! A great way to get a variety of protein, good flavor, and doable portions!
