What is the diet for each week #1-6 Post Op VSG?   I will be at a mandatory work meeting about 4-5 weeks post surgery and curious if I will able to eat anything at all at a restaurant, or will I still be on liquid or pureed only?

Every surgeon's plan is different.  Please ask yours what her diet progression is.

Gwen is of course right.  However, for me, I will be eating soft foods at that stage (tuna salad, egg salad, etc).  I could definitely do a soup that week.

every surgeon has his/her own plan , mine allowed all foods after 2 weeks starting with softer stuff

 ask you surgeon or nut

if it is at a restaurant baked fish is safe for anything past full liquid according to my surgeon

Let's see, days 1-3 post op was clear liquids, then the first week was like broth and jello, week two was low fat cream based (strained) soups, week 3 was semi solids: so mashed potato consistency, week 4 is soft foods which means you can incorporate soft cooked meats, and now I am on week 5 and the restrictions are basically no alcohol, caffeine, carbonation, skins, seeds etc and meat is more lenient but stay away from steak/porkchops...obvious stuff.

Hope this helps, but you should have a pamphlet or something to ensure you are being guided in the right direction :)

As everyone has mentioned, each surgeon has a different schedule of food progression that they want you to follow.  Check with your surgeon's office.  They generally will have a handout prepared.

At that point I was cleared for soft solids (protein/veggies) and when I went out, I stuck with noodle-free soups or chili, or something like hummus without the pita bread. I would have been able to tolerate scrambled eggs in a breakfast situation.

I would think a soup or Cottage cheese would be available.  I am sure you could find something.  Good luck!
