My dr. won't let me have bread.  So what do you make a sandwich with? LOL  I am 4 months post-op and miss sandwich meat & cheese.  Any suggestions?

You can do a lettuce wrap.  Do a google image search of the "Jimmy John's Unwich)

I used to do these before surgery (I'm still not far enough out to eat them):  http://paleowrap.com/

You can also eat sandwich meat and cheese in a roll up.

I get deli meats and cheese and wrap them together and it them without bread.  A little protein without the carbs.

You can also try a "cloud bread" (google it!)  It's made with egg whites and a little cheese.  It's not the same texture as bread but it's also not lettuce (which I love but some times just want something different!!).  Try this: https://aseatatmytable.wordpress.com/2013/02/03/cloud-bread-nailed-it/

I am 2 years out and still do not eat bread. I was a breadaholic and know that if I were to start eating bread, it would be a slippery slope for me.

When I make a "sandwich", I always make a low carb version  = meat (maybe cheese added), veggies, low carb/no carb condiment -  all wrapped in lettuce leaves.

Awesome!!  Thank you so much.  I am also a breadaholic and was afraid to eat some because of it.  It is hard to think that I can never have bread again so it is "one day at a time"  for me.

I live by "it's the choices I make that keep me in check and successful" mindset.  There will be a time when your Dr. may say bread is okay.  Mine did.  It's my choice to not eat it.  Why would I waste precious space in my stomach eating bread, when it's protein I need?

I am hard core.   I refuse to be one of those posters who shows up down the road bemoaning the fact that they gained some or all of their weight back from not making great choices. 2 years out and I still weigh, measure and log my food.  Do I have too? No.  But, it is ingrained into my daily routine.  I don't despise the routine, get tired of it or wish to just wing it and see if I can pull it off.  I just do it because that is what makes me be successful for Me.

That is how my sandwiches always look.  Well, not quite as classy as yours, Frisco, but same principle. :)
