Should You or Shouldn't You?

As I often have my fair share of getting sick and vvomiting I am wondering if it's best to get sick and throw up or fight it and hold everything down? Which would be the hardest on the sleeve? I am thinking throwing it up and be done with it!

I'm 11 months out and have not thrown up once.  You should see your dr.

I'll admit a few times vegetables have simply not digested and the only relief had been to vomit them up...i do not think this means i have an eating disorder just needed relief. I'm talking 2-3 x over 16 mos

I've never thrown up and I don't think it's common to be vomiting so much.  Contact your surgeon maybe?

I go both ways. I keep it down if I can, but I have a ton of experience with puking unfortunately and can tell when it is just time to throw in the towel. This doesn't include the times that there is just no stopping it...

I have told my surgeon many times about this but he just feels I overeat or eat to fast...but he has now moved up north so I will be using my PCP....I think most of the time the food just doesn't agree with me

What are you eating?  Can you see a different surgeon or a GI doctor?

I am 13 months out now, so I can eat just about everything within reason...its the quantity of what I am eating that I need to be careful of...and that's not saying that I am eating candy, cookies and all the bad stuff... It just means I am careful with everything,... Salad, protein etc

I notice that you're nearing your goal. Has the nausea and vomiting occurred often or only occasionally? If often, you have a problem, and the problem is not whether or not you should fight the vomiting. The problem is that you're vomiting at all. You may be overfilling your sleeve or trying to eat tough proteins (e.g., I can't eat steak no matter how tender it is). There may be other causes. Check with your surgeon about this. Vomiting should not be routine for anyone.
