Shrimp is just fine once you've progressed to solid food, just don't try to eat it when you're in the "mushy" or "puree" phase.

Like fish, a cooking method that keeps things moist is probably best, and make sure to stay away from butter sauce or fried shrimp. I like to get large frozen shrimp with the shell on and just boil them with seafood seasoning (I like "Old Bay" brand with extra garlic), then eat them plain.

I like to cook onions, fresh tomatoes and zucchini slices until soft, then add raw, unpeeled shrimp and cover for a few minutes until the shrimp are done.  I just add a little salt and some oregano.  I had it last night and this morning. Yum!

I eat a lot of prawns with ****tail sauce. It's one of my go-to quick meals.  I buy the big bag of cooked/peeled shrimp at Costco and keep them in the freezer. I just pop a couple ounces (weighed) into a bowl with some water to defrost them and bam!  Dinner!

I eat shrimp quite a bit - low in fat and calories. I usually grill, but sometimes boil or eat as shrimp ****tail

Shrimp are fine once you're cleared for all foods.  And I suppose that if you're willing to puree them, they'd be fine for that stage as well!  It sounds more like you need to make your meats/seafood more moist right now.  My favorite sauce is salsa.  Cheap, low calorie, low fat, and adds some zing as well as moisture.

I am not a huge cook, but shrimp is super easy. I buy the medium sized that is already peeled. Spray a pan with Pam, toss in the shrimp and season with Adobe. You know they are done when the curl into the shape of a "C". Don't over cook them- they get a little funky in texture. I also drop them into broth soups. They are actually pretty low in calories and pack good protien- but a little hard on your cholesterol of that is a concern.

Since you're having trouble with fish, I would suggest holding off on shrimp. The texture of cooked shrimp is a little chewier than most fish. Perhaps sea scallops or crab would be a better transition, although seafood of any type is inedible if overcooked.
