Shrimp Boil

Not often I add something new into the family rotation of meals, but dang a shrimp boil is a keeper for sure! Best part is that you can easily not eat the potatoe and corn and stick to the seafood. We also used a smoked  turkey sausage (Butterball, like kielbasa) to shave calories. Delicious! Here is a link, and when I prepared it I did not use Old Bay, but instead a half cup of "meat magic" seasoning (a type of cajun). We like spicier food here, but if it were just the hubby and I then the spice would be increased. The daughters have a lower threshold. Anyway, cooked without fat and such to increase the calories and lots of protein. Super easy and fairly fast to do too- surprised by that, as it seemed more difficult. Yum!

Wonderful idea! Plus the family can sit around, peel shrimp and enjoy each others company.  I bet it smells wonderful. Thanks for the idea!

I used frozen shrimp that was peeled, deveined, and tail on. Easy peasy!

This sounds AMAZING! My husband loves turkey sausage and shrimp, so this would be perfect for us. Thanks for passing it along!

I love shirmp and crawfish! Its great to know I won't have to give them up entirely after the sleeve. Never thought to use turkey sausage when boiling shrimp, thanks for the tip. All of the paul Prudhomme's seasonings are amazing, but I would try Zatarain's crab boil if you haven't (since you guys like spicy).

Doggoneit! I saw that at the local grocery store, and debated if I should use that or go with a seasoning that I know. Don't get me wrong, I loved it the way it was made... but for sure now I am going for the Zatarain's boil thingy now. Thanks for giving me a recommendation on it!
