Starting over at 34!!

Wednesday I was 2 weeks post op and today I turned 34! At first I was a little down but then I realized that I may be starting my life over at 34 in a way but if I hadn't waited so long I'd of questioned if I really could have done this on my own. I'm ok with the fact that I spent 10+ years fighting a losing battle because at the end of the day I did all I could do before making a drastic choice! As of today my scale read a 2lb loss. Happy Birthday to ME! I'm officially down 22 lbs from my high weight and even though it feels like I'm losing it slowly, the scale is moving and I'm grateful for the change. I feel like this weight may come off slowly and this may be a tough road but it's a road that I'm willing to walk and today on my Birthday I'm grateful for the gift of a new start! My hubby ordered me a Fit*****arge too! He can be pretty awesome sometimes. No Birthday cake for me, just lots of broccoli soup. lol

You don't know how envious I am that you are "starting over" at age 34. I had to start over at age 64! I'm not really envious, just glad that you have most of your life ahead of you and the chance to live it in good health. Good luck!

I'd say put a birthday candle in your broccoli soup, but that's just wrong.

Haha.. Thanks. I guess it's never too late to start over. I don't regret that decision. Candle in broccoli soup..

HaHa don't sleep on 64, isn't it the new 44? I know I feel loads better in my 40's than in my 20's or 30's.

At my high weight, 64 was more like the new 94, which is pretty much the old 94. My age is starting to come down quickly now; I'd say about 60 now. Hoping for 50.

You keep bouncing away, you young 'un!

Happy Birthday! Congratulations on having the strength to admit that you needed help and then taking it. I started over at 39. We're still young. :)

Good luck on your journey! ((Hugs))

I am 49 and "starting over" on Monday, Nov 30. I wish I had done this earlier but all I can do now is look forward to my future. Being able to be around to see my kids and grandkids grow up and being able to do things with my grandkids means so much. I feel grateful and blessed that I will now be able to do the things I have not been able to for a long time.

Happy Birthday!

Tink

Thanks! I know what you mean. My kids are half grown at 13 and soon to be 9 so I feel like I've already missed way more than I should have.
