I am 5 weeks out. I've been watching grocery haul videos. What is the 10 to 1 ratio? Any food tips for me? I'm 5 weeks out down 42 lbs total but haven't lost at all in almost 2 weeks. Need to make sure I'm eating properly!!! Any good Vsg books? Definitely going to reach out to my nutritionist?

I'm not sure what a grocery haul video is or a 10 to 1 ratio, but I have some thoughts on what to eat 5 weeks out.

At 5 weeks out, I ate a lot of sea food.  I loved salmon, and I still eat it regularly.  I'd make sea scallops, sauted them in a little oil.  1 or 2 would fill me up.  I'd wrap a piece of deli chicken or ham around a low-fat string cheese for an easy and portable meal.  Tuna salad, and chicken salads worked well.  I'd use real mayo to make them moist.  Since the quantity was so small, the calories were reasonable.

Rotisary chicken is also an easy meal, and my tummy could handle chicken by 5 weeks.

And, of course, all the soft foods like yogurt, cottage cheese, soups, etc.  All worked well.

best wishes,

Carol

If I had to guess I'd say the 10 to 1 ratio means 10 calories per 1 gram of protein.  So a good snack would be 100 calories with 10g of protein.  Very doable with greek yogurt, jerky, tuna, protein shakes, Quest bars (if on your plan)...etc.
