Stressing out

i have not lost any weight in 4 weeks.  I am eating close to the number of calories that my nut said I should (about 1200) she increased the amount of protein to 80 grams a day due to the amount of exercise I am getting (run 2 miles a day, lift weights a few time a week and have martial arts class 2-3 time a week).  Could not getting in enough protein or calories have me not losing wt?  I am just stressing out ( I was sleeved six months ago).

1200 calories is wayyyyyyyyyy too many, in my not-so-humble opinion. Most successful losers here keep their calories much lower than that.

I am burning an average of 400-600 calories in my workout leaving a remaining 600 calories.  To me it seems too few, that was what I was on post op.

What exactly are you doing when you exercise? Workout machines are notoriously inaccurate and people often over-estimate how much they burn.

If you're still in weight loss mode, you generally shouldn't "eat back" your exercise calories anyway.

As stated in the prior post, I ran an average of 2 miles a day, lift weights 3-4 times per week, and martial arts 2-3 times per week.

You can not out exercise a bad diet.  And a bad diet can just be eating too much of a good thing.  As Laura and many of us will tell you, you are most likely eating to many calories.  Or you are in a stall and your body is taking a breather.  Are you losing inches?

I had to stop all formal exercise due to hernia complications 7 months post op.  I promise you, it was eating the right amount of calories that got me to goal, since I spent most of the next 12 months on bed rest from surgical complications.  I got to goal, blew past it and have stayed there for almost 2 years now just by being vigilant with my intake. I am allowed zero exercise besides walking and general life stuff.

It's great to exercise for stregth and overall general sense of well being.  But it doesn't always have the effect on our weight that we have been led to believe, especially when we were healvier.  Just MHO.  I wish you luck on the rest of your journey.

I walk 5- 10 miles a day and haven't found it accelerates my weight loss even without adding in extra calories for those burned walking. For some us the road is just rough but we'll get there eventually.

I still say you are eating too many calories. Many people consume 1200 when they are in maintenance. Starvation-mode is a myth. You started out at over 300 pounds, which makes you a heavyweight. We heavyweights MUST maximize our weight loss during the first 18 months or we generally do not reach our goals. I did not consume more than 900 calories until I reached my goal weight. I was determined to reach my goal weight and I did.

During the later part of weight loss mode, I was swimming a mile 3 times a week, walking 2-3 miles twice a week, hand weights / resistance bands, max 750 calories and didn't eat back exercise calories. I started maintenance making it to 1100 calories.
