Whatcha eating today? Tuesday, 8/30/2016

While grocery shopping yesterday, something happened that I never experienced before. As I rounded the corner from dairy toward the meat counter, I was suddenly hit out of nowhere with an incredibly intense craving to buy and immediately eat something sweet -- doughnuts, ice cream, candy, it didn't really matter what it was. The impulse was so strong that I actually had to stop in my tracks for a minute or two while I mentally talked myself down from the ledge. A few very uncomfortable minutes later, I was able to continue shopping (with my trusty list) and avoid buying anything awful. Anyone who says that starchy and sugary junk food is not addictive -- sorry, but I truly believe it is.

B: Coffee w/almond milk

L: Egg-vegetable omelet

D: Bit of pasta w/meat-laden pasta sauce, green peas

Being newly post-op I haven't really had to talk myself of the ledge yet but I did it all the time pre-op. I don't crave sweets but I would get home from work starving and would find myself frantically looking for food to shove in my mouth. I would have tell myself to calm down!!!
