I slept in 60 minutes this morning since it's NICE outside!  So I didn't need to wake up at 6:30 to have halfway decent running weather.  In fact, I was actually a little chilly when I left to run!  It's hard to believe that this time last year I was buying my winter exercise wardrobe. It does not feel like winter is coming.. whatever Sean Bean says ;)

1: protein shake
2: leftover brisket, bbq sauce (I make my own BBQ sauce so I control the sugar level.)
3: tamales, fried eggs (I made tamales for a class project with one of my best friends at easter time and now I have a ton in the freezer.  I'll steam these to cook them and then cut them up and sauté them with some oil until they get crispy and then serve them topped with fried eggs.)

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: w3d2 of the Zombies Run 5k training plan and I'm about to do my 30 minutes of post-run yoga stretching.  Just posting this while I cool down a little bit!

I'm definitely in a period of depression right now.  I've been thinking about my dad a lot, crying a lot, my partner is having cardiac ablation (heart surgery, but not the open heart kind) in a week, and it seems like no matter how much sleep I get I don't feel rested.  I'm strongly considering calling my therapist on Monday and seeing if I can schedule an appointment with her.  I know that's the advice I'd give someone else, so it seems wise to give that advice to myself - and to take it.

How's your Sunday going?

And writing this encouraged me to email my therapist RIGHT NOW about scheduling.  So I did that.  Now to stretch!

Hi Gwen,

It sounds like you are doing great with all the exercise and your healthy diet.  Good work.

I am still struggling to get back on track.  I had lunch at an Indian restaurant on Friday.  I intended to just eat the tandoori chicken, but the carby appetizers got me.  Since then, I've been struggling with the carb monster.  I am resisting the carbs, but I'm eating too many healthy foods, so I'm still gaining.  This maintenance is not easy.

breakfast - salmon

Lunch - chicken in spicy peanut sauce

Dinner - pizza casserole

snack - thai chicken

viamins and water - good

exercise - I will walk today.

Have a good Sunday, everyone.

Carol

I am sorry about the depression over your dad. It is tough to loose a loved one.  It sounds you are aware of your needs and are taking care of them by seeing a therapist.

B 1 egg, coffee

S premier protein drink

L cottage cheese mixed with pineapple and sugar free jello mix

D 6 turkey meatballs,  1/4 cup spaghetti sauce, 1 ounce spaghetti noodles

S cottage cheese mixed with pineapple and sugar free jello

S pickles 2

W 70 ounces

E no

V taken

Estimated calories at 900.

On a side note, I used to buy jars of spaghetti sauce. I read a hint to use cans of crushed tomatoes due to it not having extra sugar. I tried it and actually like it better.  It actually saves me about 35 calories a serving. Now I need a recipe for barbeque sauce.

This is my basic recipe for bbq sauce.  You can easily modify it to be lower in sugar by omitting the brown sugar, swapping out the ketchup for another tomato product (I've used thinned tomato paste).  It's meant to be experimented with :)

Thanks, I am going to make it now. I am going to cook a pork loin in the crockpot for dinner tomorrow and I like to put barbecue sauce on it.

Lost another pound yesterday. Those last stubborn 20 pounds are finally starting to say "adios." The last time I was at this weight was in my 30s (I'm 64). Autumn weather has arrived in Maryland, too. Lovely coolness after that intensely hot summer.

  1. Coffee w/cashew milk
  2. Olive garden spaghetti w/marina and meatballs. I ate only half the meatballs and sauce and just a bit of the pasta.
  3. Same as lunch.
  4. Snack: No snacks. Those meatballs pack a lot of calories, but I'm still in my calorie range.

W&V: Almost done.

E: None.

  1. 2 eggs
  2. Siggi yogurt (5 ounces) which I put some vanilla in.  It was sweet without sweetener :)
  3. 2 ounces green beans plus one garlicy chicken thihg.
  4. One string cheese.

If I'm hungry tonight I'll have a protein shake.  I'm a bit short anywya (just sitting at 50g) so we'll see.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
