Whatcha eating today? Thursday, 10/27/2016

Yesterday did not go as planned.  I had my breakfast shake at 7am and then left the house.  I had planned on eating my lunch (a protein bad) before my leg ultrasound at 2 but forgot.  And then it took TWO HOURS. I almost passed out during the test.  Ugh.  Definitely not intended.  By the time I got home I felt non-functional so I took a nap.  The result of all of this is that I feel completely unprepared for my anatomy exam today since I didn't get to spend any significant time studying for it yesterday.  :/  Thankfully I've got the entire day to study today between my morning run and whenever I leave for college which will be around 2:45.  Here's hoping I can pull a decent grade out of my ass.

1: protein shake
2: leftover fajita nachos from Chevys
3: protein bar on the way home from class if necessary, otherwise leftover french onion chicken

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: about to head out for w6d1 of Zombies, Run 5k training to be followed by a yoga post-run stretching routine

How about you?  What have you got going on today?

good luck on the training! My knee doesn't like 5ks, but my sister loves doing them.  I do the 1k's with my daughter. We like to do the superhero ones... I dress like Wonder Woman lol

Errands, heading to planet fitness for workout soon. Laundry done :)

B - bar, coffee (and yes sf pumpkin spice decaf coffee!)

L - chicken, salad with homemade low salt ranch

D - homemade chili, topped with shredded cheese

S - probably another protein bar - don't know why but I've been choosing them over my sunflower seeds, protein pudding for meds

staying around 1,000 calories on days I go to the gym, 900-1000 on days I don't.

working on getting more fluids in, this is my main weakness :(

Good morning all,

My weight is down below 165 again - hoo-ray!  I've still got a few pounds to lose to be back at goal, but at least I'm seeing progress.

Breakfast - salmon

Lunch - chicken fried "rice"

Dinner - pulled pork and veggie

snack - Dijon lime chicken

I'm having a lazy day at home, studying Spanish (I'm trying to get some fluency before a trip to south America next fall), and I'll be working on a rewrite of a web site for one of my nonprofits - an organization that offers education, ESL, High School Equivalency and citizenship classes for working people who are trying to build better lives. Its a wonderful organization of people helping people.

Have a good day, everyone!

Carol

Yes, I had a fleur-di-lis tummy tuck about 8 months after reaching my goal weight.  I had a lot of excess skin on my belly, and I was thrilled with the results.  I have before and after pictures on my profile, if you are interested.  The scars really faded and I love my new tummy.  It looks like it did when I was 14, before I started gaining weight.  It was a great lift to my self-esteem -- more than I would have expected.  I highly recommend it.   I still have some excess skin on my upper arms (bat wings! (smile))  and some loose skin on my inner thighs, that hangs in wrinkles, but both these have been improving over time.    In any case, I highly recommend plastic surgery.  After all we've been thru with dealing with obesity, we deserve to feel good about our bodies.   I did have to self-pay, but I shopped around, and found someone thru word-of-mouth who was much more reasonably priced.  I'd be glad to share my recommendation with anyone from Mass. or nearby who is interested. He was great, and very reasonable.  Just contact me.   best wishes, Carol

Awesome awesome!  I'm hoping to get the ball rolling on plastics early next year and to have surgery in May.  I just need to reach goals, etc, for that to happen!

Do you eat smoked salmon for breakfast? I've been eying the smoked salmon but I've never tried it. I don't like baked salmon but I love salmon croquets.

I make a very simple salmon.  I just add salt and pepper, and I cook it by sous vide, which is a French cooking technique where you vacuum  seal the food in plastic and cook it in a low temp water bath  (140 degrees for one hour)   The salmon comes out very moist and tender.  I really like it, as evidenced by the fact that I eat it almost every day.

I think smoked salmon would be equally healthy and enjoyable.

best wishes,
Carol
