My personal battle with the 3 week stall!

So I have been stalled for almost 2 weeks now, and I just want to pull my hair out! I know that it is perfectly normal, especially since I did loose quite a bit of weight during the pre-op period. My heaviest recorded weight was 282, surgery weight (12/20/2016) was 250 and my weight for the past two weeks has been 234.5 (ish).

I will admit, my water consumption hasn't been quite as good as it needs to be. I struggle getting it all in since I get full so easily. It's a balancing act, because if I drank all of my water right now I wouldn't be able to eat anything. I have also been struggling with a bit of constipation, which I hope has been contributing to part of my weight loss stall... LOL!

I don't step on the scale every day, because if I did I would be bald.

Anyone have any words of wisdom?

Thanks!

DITTO... I think I am in the same boat. I work on not focusing on the scale, which I don't use... it messes with my head to much. Hopefully some one can help us both...

Mt stall started one week after surgery and lasted 3 1/2 weeks...nada nothing 3 1/2 weeks... it is a blip on the screen of your life. This is your new life, not a diet, just focus on doing what you are supposed to do and it will happen.

If you were further out I always think it is a good idea during a stall to change up our food choices and add some fat...sometimes we get into a rut. But at this point just keep doing what you are supposed to do....

Both of the things you stated can contribute. If you are not drinking enough your body will hold on to as much of the fluid it can. Fluid retention can make a huge difference. in my case my weight can swing 5 pounds in one 24 hour period. Constipation also can really add up. Try to up your fluids, get some fiber in (my preference) or use colace or something if your doc is cool with that. Stay on your plan, it will pass.

Also, if you have not done so yet- take your measurements. Many times during stalls the scale is not moving but you are losing inches. It will help keep you sane during stalls to see that inches lost.

"Stay on your plan, it will pass."  Hahahahaha!  True that!  On a couple of levels.

Catching up on our water will help clear out the constipation.  Do that, and you just might see a significant drop in weight in a matter of hours.  Don't ask me how I know this.

I am 4 1/2 months out from surgery. I have lost almost 45 pounds since my sleeve. I have had about 3 stall periods during this time. My doctor says to stay consistent and the stall will pass. This has happened every time. I will say that consistently what I have slowed down on before the stalls have been water consumption. I drink less water, get more constipated and then I stall.

I agree that you should take your measurements if you have not. It is weird. It is like your body uses stalls to rearrange itself :-)

Keep up the good work!!!
