I had mine on 9/6. My daughter had her's on 9/27.  My surgery went very well. I was in the hospital an extra day because I have some severe medication allergies. I always stay an extra day though so it didn't have anything to do specifically with the surgery. I really like the nursing staff for pre-op as well as on the floor.

Insurance is probably the most frustrating part of the whole thing. But, the practice is very, very good at getting positive results. My daughter's insurance is one that makes you jump through hoop after hoop after hoop. They average about 8 - 10 months from first appointment to approval. They were able to have her approved and scheduled for surgery 6 months and 2 weeks after her first appointment. We did our seminar after our first appointments.

You will find that our practice is much stricter about food, alcohol, exercise than a lot  I have seen on here and other sites. But, I think the success rates they have merit following the protocols they set down.

Congrats on making this decision!  It is not the easiest thing I have ever done. But, I wish I did it years ago. I feel amazing!!

That's so awesome! Congratulations on your success!  I went to seminar July 23 and had my first appt November 17..I have noticed the same thing about our practice about having such strict guidelines but I'm so on board with them, They are so supportive and never seem to mind the 1001 questions I ask.I hope Im not asking you to many just grateful to find someone whose been there.Did you have to do the 2 week clear sugar free liquid diet? What about pre-op barium swallow test? Thank you for your patience :)
