Do what you want, but I feel you're being slightly foolish to block people who have been extremely successful with this surgery, simply because they don't give you thumbs up to every post you make. The people here are extremely supportive, truly have your best interests at heart, and want you to succeed. They don't need to spend their time on these boards offering advice, but choose to do so so that others who have surgery after them can be successful. If you're looking for people to cheer you on throughout this race, sometimes with tough love, this is the place. If you're looking for people to rah rah some questionable choices not even a month post op, you may find yourself without a ton of "support."

I know that you'll likely block me, which is completely fine. I'll save my advice and information regarding my experiences as someone who is maintaining a 130 lb loss for someone *****ally wants it and will take it in the spirit in which its given. Good luck to you and moderation!!!

As I said, in one of my posts, I'm not looking for people to just rah rah everything I post. But, I also don't expect them to make snyde comments on a post that I make to someone else that doesn't even concern them or have anything to do with what I posted on that particular comment. I have no reason to block you and I'm surprised you'd even say that. it seems that there are one or two people on the site that think they know more that professionals simply because they've had the surgery and have lost a lot of weight. i'll trust my health team that have dealt with thousands of patients rather than just one. By support, I mean offering constructive, not destructive, input. And understanding that not everyone is the same as they are. Not everyone one here is a food addict or a binge eater. Weight issues come from many different issues. Not everything is black and white. I don't do well with rigid people or black and white judgments. I don't at all have a problem with people sharing THEIR experience, but understanding that everyone is not the same.

I'm sticking around. I've only blocked one person and don't intend to use that block button haphazardly - just to get the rude ones off of my back.

I've heard from others privately that they have reduced their activity on this site for exactly the same reason that I blocked that person. That is very sad to me.

Missy, you're in denial. You may not think that you have an eating disorder. You may not. But your actions indicate that you are not following any time of moderation.

This is a public forum. Comments are welcome on all topics whether you think they apply or not.

Please block me if you think I'm rude. I'm trying to wake you up.

Mean spirited is what I should have said. I'm done talking about it. It's a rabbit trail that needs to be dropped. I'm done with the person who like to jab and have blocked her so I don't have to read anything from her again.

It's unfortunate that you've decided to block one of the most successful and helpful people on OH. Gwen has some of the best insight and experience for people who have had a VSG. The loss is yours.

She was not mean or mean spirited in any way. She was honest.

You're making poor choices so early after your surgery. It's a red flag for anyone who has had WLS and is further down the road than you are.

You're hurting yourself with your food choices and stubbornness. Open your mind. We all have things we can learn.

Meh, I had some scrambled eggs earlier than I should have. I don't think of myself as a failure and neither should you. I know exactly how you feel making food for my family and its things I'm not supposed to eat. But I truly believe the motto I have in my signature ... when you fall you just get back up. Just because you have one little cheat doesn't mean you should give up trying.

If you fall down you just have to get back up.

If you are from the UK (as am I), there are big cultural differences and you are getting the American (and maybe Canadian) answers and advice.

Here in the US, tons of people get therapy and talk happily about their feelings in public. It's really not in our culture to do either and therapy or seeing a psychiatrist is for someone with a diagnosable mental illness, not just a few issues we need help with.

Noone thinks you're crazy or in need of psychiatric help, and people really do mean well when they suggest therapy.

Great advise from everyone!

I was the opposite and was about a week at least behind schedule. I had no desire and a little fear of what was going to happen when I did eat. I struggled with eating too fast and that caused trouble for me.

Your story reminds me of something I did. The day before I went back to the surgeon to get cleared for more exercise other than walking I decided that it would be a good idea to start jogging. Man - it felt good till that night and then it hurt. I laid hands on myself and prayed that I hadn't broken anything (lol)! I repented. I went in with a huge list of everything I thought I was doing wrong to the surgeon the next afternoon. I confessed immediately to jogging the day before. He told me that I couldn't of wrecked anything that he had done already. He told me it was ok but I would probably be a little sore but to go ahead and just listen to my body. Everything else I was worried about I had done correctly and he was happy with me. I am hoping the same for you tomorrow.
