To be clear, I am following my surgeon's directions and wasn't advocating at all that she follow mine. I was just trying to give her encouragement because mine is different than hers and toleration isn't something to worry about as long as you follow the Dr's orders.

I was sleeved on the 6th, I am enjoying broth, water, pudding and yogurt. I rotate and eat about a spoonful. The protein Water has helped and protein powder in my food. Hang in there, slow and steady.

One day at a time. One meal at a time.

If you fall down you just have to get back up.

You just had major surgery, so it's totally normal that you feel weak - you're recovering, you're working on getting anesthesia out of your system, you've got a low calorie intake, etc, etc. Be patient - it'll get better.

The liquid diet sucks. :/ Sorry.

You have diarrhea because "liquid in, liquid out."

Your mouth tastes awful because of the high protein/low carb diet.

Many people never have restriction with liquids because liquids don't really engage the pyloric valve. Restriction will probably kick in full force when you get to solid foods. (This was the case for me. Thank goodness! It made it easy to stay hydrated and to get my protein in.)

It WILL get easier. In 3+ years these first few weeks post-op will barely be a blip in your memory. Hang in there.

I remember that I decided that I was completely insane for doing this to myself post op day four and I was even allowed to have protein shakes, cottage and yogurt and pudding!

The feeling went away in a few days and I've never had a moment's regret since.

I am in the same boat, I know I needed a tool to help me, but I am so very very scared I made a mistake, I need to be strong everone says it gets better, I truly hope so, because I feel horrible.
