How many times do you eat a day and how far out are you?

Just curious.

I am on purees and manage to eat 4 times ( 1 ounce per time) , I am supposed to be eating 6 times a day, according to my dietician but I already feel stuffed lol. (16 days out)

I am interested in the variation from person to person :)

I eat three or four times a day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack later if I want one, which I do some days and not other days. What I think is important is having a routine so you don't graze or snack between meals. That can get you into trouble. But the best thing is to use a tracker Luke MyFitnessPal so you can be very aware of what you eat and when. Just after surgery you will eat very little and this is the honeymoon period, but over time you can eat more, and I know graze too. I think tracking keeps you accountable longer term, and will keep you on the losing or maintaining side.

Up until recently, I ate 3 times per day plus a 1oz snack. I just now am adding a 4th meal to transition to maintenance and that will be a full meal and I'll eliminate my snack. I'm 6 months out.

A lot of guidelines like volume and frequency of food are meant to be read as maximums, not minimums.

When I was on purees I was eating 1-2 ounces twice a day and then drinking protein shakes to reach my protein goal. So two protein shakes a day.

If the only nutrition you're currently getting is 4 ounces of pureed food, that might be a contributor to your dizziness. Add in protein shakes.

I am about 3.5 years out and still working on losing weight. I eat three meals a day with no snacks, which is what my plan requires. I weigh my meals (at least when I'm eating at home, I stopped weighing when out after the first year, but I also eat out very infrequently) and eat no more than 5 ounces. I.e., I aim for 4 ounces, but sometimes it's like 4.3 or whatever. Never more than 4.9! First meal of the day is a protein shake most of the time, since I don't like solid food in the morning and never have.

I think I'll have to add shakes secretly. My dietician feels I shouldn't be drinking my calories. But your right my cals for the day is under 250 and protein 30grams. Per day . my poor body is straggling but I'm doing everything I'm told.

I'm now in a lot of pain in my left side its confusing. I'm doing everything right.

How many shakes should I have do you think ?

Enough so that you get 60-80 grams of protein a day.

I am 3.5 years out and eat 5-6x per day. I was eating less (4-5x) but was suffering from significant dizziness and fatigue so upon dietician's advice added in an extra 'meal'.

I have coffee/breakfast around 7:00 am, homemade protein shake around 10:00 after exercising, lunch (real food) around 1-2, snack or shake around 3-4 pm, and then dinner between 6-7 pm. I may add an extra snack in there or have a takeout coffee as my 6th snack. I don't eat after 7:30 PM because of GERD and how awful it is when it wakes me up.

My bariatric clinic recommends 3 meals + 2 snacks per day.

3. I used to eat 3 meals a day and a snack around 4 pm. Unfortunately when I quit doing that snack I have been dealing with head hunger. It has been very difficult but I am keeping it up so far. I quit doing the 4 p.m. snack thing around the start of the month. I am almost 11 months out of surgery.

At just over 2 weeks I was eating 3-4 tiny puréed meals. Now in maintenance I eat 5-6 small meals (100-200 calories for most meals, maybe 300 at my dinner meal).
