Morning VSGers! Jon and I are headed out of town until Sunday. I booked our rappelling adventure yesterday and I also found a tree top ropes course and zip line that I'm hoping to convince him to do with me as well. Otherwise, we're planning on plenty of fishing, hiking, and canoeing. Plus, some book reading on the screen porch of our cabin!

M1: Premier w/ Coffee

M2: Fried egg w/ Sausage patty

That's one hell of a sand dune! I've never seen one that big before. Good on you, girl!!!

It's a tiny one for around these parts. Sleeping Bear Dunes a little north of here is 450 ft high or the equivalent of roughly a 41 story building!

Morning all.

I started antibiotics last Wednesday after my root canal. Then my weight started climbing -- it was odd because I was eating less just because my mouth hurt. I was kind of freaking out because I was getting close to my high range of my weight (I haven't been there since December). I'm feeling a little bit better because it's comign back down. I think it must have been water retention from the antibiotics. But man that stressed me out. I'm still up 1-2 lbs but staying focused on food and getting plenty of water. I still have a few days left on my antibiotics, but hopefully this flushes out and I can dip down a bit more.

Totally random -- but I went to the pool with my son on Friday. I wore a bathing suit I haven't worn in a while (just it had been stuck in the back of the closet) and I was admiring my figure -- I'm heavier than when I wore it before but much more muscular. So definitely happy with how I look, but still completely freaked out with the number on the scale going up. Arg -- I guess I know it is a slipperly slope that I just do not want to go down.

ok food -

b - fit frappe & coffee

l - salad w/ chicken (costco superfood salad is the best -- grill some chicken & have lunch for the week!)

s - yogurt w/ strawberries & protein shake

d - cleaning out fridge (some steak & vegs)

s - tbd

e - crossfit

Congrats on the NSV with the bathing suit. That tells the tale so much more than the small fluctuation on the scale. Just keep doing your thing and I bet that weight falls right off very soon. But I get where you are coming from. I go right into freak out mode if I see the scale climb.

I struggle greatly with the idea of gaining weight with muscle mass. My trainer keeps telling me that "this time next year" I could put on such & such if I wanted to. I don't want to!

I can tell you I'm still hung up on getting a certain # on the scale. but at 163, I am wearing the same size as my mom, and she is 137. That's all due to the muscle.

Aaaah, zip lining freaks me out, but everything else sounds super awesome :) I hope you have a great time!

I'm feeling totally wiped out from my weekend of late nights and physical activity with my mom. I know I'm still recovering from surgery, but sometimes it catches me off guard. Combined with my period.. I slept through my fitness classes this morning. I think I'm going to spend some quality bonding time with an ice pack or heating pad this morning. Maybe both.

I'm in a good place with my school work for the week - all that's left is writing. I hope to get my discussion post up today and then I'll finish up my interview report over the next few days.

Best of all? Art comes home today! Woo!

1: protein shake
2: protein shake
3: pork tenderloin, roasted potatoes, some veg depending on what the store has

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: nope
