Morning folks! I went to bed late and I should have slept in, but it didn't work out that way. My husband is teaching a class so he was out the door early and I got up to put some recovery balm on my muscles because leg and shoulder day killed me. Today is the town wide lawn sales for a neighboring town and I think I'll take the kids when they get up and see if I can find myself a cheap bookshelf for my office.

QOTD: What food do you miss since WLS? I got thinking about this last night and I'm going to miss sweet corn. I just saw that the farm up the road finally has some available. It's a lot of calories for no protein and a bunch of carbs, so it's unlikely I'll have any this year. But I'm going to miss it.

7 months post-op\Maintenance\141.7 this morning

M1: Premier Protein, Coffee & Miralax (Heavy Cream)

M2: Fage Total Zero Yogurt w/ Blueberries, Coconut Flakes & Pecans

M3: Emiepie's Egg Salad and Avocado

M4: TBD

E: I'm to the point of hobbling right now, but I will hobble around town for some sales!

Snapshot Saturday! Show me a quick picture of something about your Saturday! Here's mine, coffee and my recovery balm for my poor aching muscles!

This morning the scale didn't even ask me who I was and just assumed that l'm Lance. Up 20 pounds since pre-op. Lolz. I blame this on surgical fluids, my period, ice cream, and swelling. Oops :) I know it'll go down in a week or so, especially once my eating is back on track!

QOTD: I don't really miss anything. When I was visiting my mom last time I had a delicious lunch of two ears of perfect corn. Yum. I thought I'd miss pizza, but I don't. I guess the knowledge that I CAN eat anything helps me to not feel deprived.

Recovery is going well. I mainly feel stiff and sore. I'm down from 10mg Oxy every 6 hours to .25mg every 6 hours. And I'm down to 0 Valium from 5mg every 6 hours. Pretty awesome! Planning on going out to see s movie today.

1: protein shake

2: protein bar

3: whatever the guys decide

liquid and vites: on track

Exercise: nope

I totally agree with you about pizza, Gwen! I used to eat it so often, I just knew I was going to really crave it. But I really don't! I had lunch with my cousin and sister the other day, and my cuz got a pizza that I would have loved before. I wasn't the least bit tempted, which is so awesome.

Since I am grain free now, I sometimes think about making skillet pizza with cheese as the base, but so far haven't wanted it badly enough to do it lol

For these moments, those Real Good Pizzas are a great substitution for me. Tastes like pizza with a chicken parmesan crust. 25g protein, 4g carbs.

They don't sell them within 100 miles of where I live, and ordering online is too expensive. I don't want any pizza at that price lol

It's totally weird though, isn't it? I keep thinking I should want pizza and I've had a bite of other people's pizzas a few times. And once when I was trapped at a thing and needed to eat I had a slice of pizza but it left me thinking "why did I think I'd miss this?" And that one slice of pizza didn't put me into some downward spiral of PIZZA CRAVING.

I should have said 10 pounds, I don't know why I keep thinking it's 20 pounds since surgery. Ten is much better :P

Good morning! Another slow start to my day. It used to be that I would get uncomfortable laying in bed too long, but as the weight goes it gets easier to just stay there. Maybe that's an NSD - non-scale defeat - because it makes me lazy!

My next door neighbors have been married 60 years this month and they are having an afternoon party today to celebrate. I need to stay away from the appetizers which are my kryptonite. Tonight we are going to a dinner party, which will have more appetizers so today is going to be a huge challenge.

QOTD: I think I figured out at the restaurant last night that I miss getting a salad before my entree. I just don't have room for it. But I love Caesar salad and watching other people eat something I love while I just sit there drinking my water is such a bummer. I also eat corn, Erin (though I know everyone is different as to what they allow!). I may only get through 1/2 an ear, but it is so delicious right from the local farms in summer. I wouldn't waste the carbs on out of season, non-local corn, but the local stuff is delish.

B - coffee and yogurt

L - chicken

D - ? Dinner party

S - try not to!

Good morning! Was up and out of bed at 5:30am to go on a walk, felt great to be outside in August and not dying of heatstroke.

QOTD: I miss appetizer salads, if I eat those, then I don't get to eat much dinner. I thought I'd miss rice. I eat a lot of asian food and it's always there at every meal, but I've had a handful of bites post-op and it just does nothing for me anymore.

B: fixed omelettes for both of us!

L: leftover mexican (chicken/black beans)

D: thai food with friends

S: protein shake

E: 13k walk! Already burned more calories than I will even eat today! :-) YAY!

Here's a pic of my tasty breakfast...

2 eggs, a dash of 1% milk, 1/4 cup of red/orange/yellow peppers, 1 oz shredded extra sharp cheddar, dash of paprika, salt, pepper, chili pepper flakes, and some cumin. YUM!

It's more than I would normally eat for breakfast (I'm happy with a protein shake), but it was a wonderful indulgence after the awesome walk this morning!
