Good Morning, VSGers! We are getting a little reprieve from the cold, dreary fall weather this week and it's been nice and in the 70's. I'm trying to take advantage of it as much as possible. Yesterday I walked on lunch break and then ran after work. I have class after work today, but I'm hoping to get the lunch break walk in again.

QOTD: Are you a food packer/prepper now? When I went to D.C. NYMom22 and I were joking that if you were stuck on the tarmac during a flight, ironically, the best person to sit next to is someone who's had WLS. Between the two of us, we had brought a mini-fridge worth of food plus each had our own bin. Protein shakes and bars, cheese, meat, jerky, nuts. You name it, we had it!

Good morning all,

I hope you are all well and happy. Its a beautiful day in New England - cold and sunny.

I'm losing a little weight and I'm encouraged, so I continue my strict adherence to "the plan"

breakfast - salmon

lunch - cold chicken and spiralized cucumber salad

dinner - either atkins beef stroganoff or eggroll stuffing bowl or my cheeseburger pie (I've got leftovers of all three in the refrig)... depending on my mood

snack - sugar-free, fat-free pudding, an atkins snack bar and a glass of red wine.

The snacks help me make it thru the evening and the whole day is 1100 calories - which is low enough that I can lose weight.

QOTD - I think I'm not as well-equiped as you two. I do carry bags of nuts, measured out to be 250 calories per bag - otherwise I eat too many. And low fat mozzarella cheese sticks. and of course, water.

Have a good day, everyone!

Carol

Happy Tuesday, everybody! I'm very anxious today. My dad is back at the Mayo clinic having his 3 month, post-chemo/radiation tests. I'm praying hard that his treatments worked and there are no signs of his cancer.

QOTD: I don't carry any food or drinks with me. I haven't yet had trouble getting something to eat from a restaurant or convenience/grocery store. I figure if I can go 6-7 hours between lunch and dinner, I can survive between finding restaurants/stores.

B - coffee and yogurt

L - eggs and turkey bacon

D - real good pizza

S - protein pudding

In my case it's not a survival thing, it's an "I don't want to eat out for every meal" thing. I have traveled quite a bit since surgery (I think about 30 days out of the last 7 months) and I don't like to have to stop on car trips for food!

I worry about making it too easy for me to eat. I've noticed that I could graze all day if I wanted to, so if I don't have food readily available I have to work for it. So cool how we all find what works best for our own relationships with food!

This is me too. I have to make it hard to eat or I will eat all day.

Fingers crossed for your dad. Waiting for results is so challenging.
