Morning! My final day of training! My brain is so fried I can barely think at this point. I guess this training is often conducted over 10 business days or a whole semester course. So, to do it in 4 days is a whirlwind! I'm planning on getting up really early tomorrow and heading out so I can be home by lunchtime.

QOTD: What time do you go to bed? I've somehow managed to travel and also adhere pretty strictly to my 9:30-10:30pm bedtime as well. I've been sleeping great! This morning I set the alarm for 6:30 and opted to sleep in. I woke up at 6:07 on my own. That's late for me!

Today is a short work day for me ****il 11) and the same tomorrow. Our weather is supposed to be great (Sunny and high 60s).

QOTD: Sadly, I typically go to bed at 8:30-9, and wake up at around 5 am. I'm trying to push that back in preparation for retirement and since I am WFH I could sleep later but I seem to slip back to the old pattern. We will see what happens when I'm not working at all!

1.5 years post-op (maintenance). 15 work days to retirement (11/13).

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and ham

L: roast turkey and cheese

D: 1/2 leftover cheeseburger

S: Yogurt, cheese sticks

Good morning!

QOTD - I try to get to bed between 9 and 9:30, and I'm usually up between 5:30 and 5:45. I don't like going to bed so early. The evenings are too short to get everything done that I need/want to do, but I'm trying to prioritize sleep, especially during the healing period.

B - latte, cottage cheese

L - shrimp

S - protein shake, roasted veg

D - meatloaf

E - walk in the park

water and vitamins on track

I'm pretty sure I've got a hernia in my descending colon. I've been concerned about this for a few weeks but it tends to bulge in the night and then I'm not exactly sure where it is by the time I wake up. This morning I noticed when I woke up, got Lance to mark it with a sharpie, and now that I can see the location, I feel pretty convinced about it. I scheduled an appointment to see my bariatric surgeon on Tuesday. All signs point to "intersigmoid hernia" which seems like serious business, so I'm hopeful that I caught it early.

I had intended to be more productive this morning, but I've been dealing with this so far. After getting this posted I'm going to get myself ready to head out for a walk with my bereavement group - it's very cold! Not 100% sure what I'll wear because of the cold! Once back home I'll work on school stuff until it's time to head to my first cognitive behavioral therapy group for bariatric patients. Eek. I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like and trying it out - I'm also nervous.

QOTD: Bedtime is 10:30 which normally means I'm working on getting to sleep no later than 11:30. Surgery recovery means my body wants more sleep than I give it, so it's variable when I wake up in the morning.

1: protein shake
2: maybe sous vide egg bites, since I can't see anyone else in the house wanting to deal with them :) My win!
3: ditto #2

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: walking with my bereavement group!

Today is more paperwork and follow up on hurricane stuff and job searching.

QOTD: When I was working, I would go to bed sometimes as early as 7:30 and get up @ 6-7 am. Now that I am unemployed, I have been going to bed between 10:30 and midnight and getting up between 8 am and 10 am. I don't sleep well so I'm usually up in the middle of the night so I only average a total of 8 hours or so. I'm also a night owl (always have been) so I tend toward late nights and late mornings anyway.

20 days post-op

M1: ½ Scoop of unflavored isopure and Campbells HR Bean soup

M2: ½ Scoop of unflavored isopure and Campbells HR Bean soup

M3: Modified Shelley's Ricotta Bake

M4: Leftover baked cod and avocado (I am really going to try and eat this today)

M5: TBD.

S: Something with Protein

E: Walking more in the house out of the wheelchair

Vites and water: 3 days in a row getting all my water in... going for 4 today. Vites on track.

Good morning! I got over 17,000 steps yesterday with the beach walk and dog walks. Felt great. And I ordered a ton of jeans to try on for my trip. I'm now firmly a size 12. Yay! I think with skin removal surgery, that would change to a 10 or 8. Found some cute slim cut ones and the rest are going back. The skinny jeans all fit fine, but I felt ridiculous in them. Hurray for free returns with Nordstrom and Zappos...

QOTD: I tend to get in bed around 9, bu****ch tv or a movie or read and fall asleep around 11ish.

B - coffee, yogurt, and bacon

L - turkey meatballs with marinara and cheese

D - pork tenderloin

S - Proyo protein frozen yogurt (Halotop is better with fewer calories in case you were curious!)
