Something to be happy about!

If you've checked the plastics forum you know I've been having a pretty rough recovery from my leg lift. One of the results of this is that I haven't weighed myself since the day before surgery. My justifications for not weighing are: I'm not naked in the morning and that's the time I weigh so better to just not weigh. (I shower and garment at night, so the only time I'm naked is in the evening after a day of eating and drinking - weighing then would just add bad data to my collection. Consistency of conditions matters!

Tonight, against my better judgement, and because I was waiting for my shower assistant, I stepped on the scale after getting my garment off. I've been eating and drinking all day, so definitely not an empty stomach. I still have a lot of swelling from surgery. Clearly not my usual ideal weigh-in conditions.

But holy crap, if the scale didn't say I was down half a pound since I weighed the day before surgery. I'm floored. I was expecting to be at least 10 pounds higher due to fluid retention, etc.

Half a pound might not sound amazing to anyone else, but given the cir****tances I'm on cloud 9. I can't wait to see what the scale says once I'm more recovered in another 3 weeks or so! This is the kind of morale boost I need right now :)

Thanks! Totally - weigh naked in the morning after the bathroom. For a while I went through a period where I would only weigh if I'd pooped too! Now I just say screw it and weigh regardless - but only naked in the morning post bathroom! So I felt totally stupid for stepping on the scale last night, exact opposite of normal conditions. Thank goodness the number was awesome :)

I totally get it. I have to know every day (good or bad) because a week of bad would be awful. So glad you can ease your mind!

I just really like numbers and data. Sigh. I should really be majoring in math and statistics at this point in my life :P

That's great to hear especially since we have just gotten through the Thanksgiving holiday. For me, I'm just glad my weight stayed the same, didn't lose a pound and didn't gain a pound either. Best wishes for your continued recovery.

Congrats on the stability! That's important too :)

I had to cancel Thanksgiving this year, so there was no over-indulgence on food happening. Probably for the best since I have, in the last 3 weeks, been feeding my self pity a bit - literally.

Nice! So that probably means you are down even more due to fluid!!! Hoping you continue to recover well.
