Hi... I've been reading the forum for quite a while..

I'll be getting vsg on 2/16/18, my HW ever recorded was 278lbs. And to this day It still shocks me.. I honestly thought I was around 250ish..

Let me tell you a little about me, I've always been fat, as far I can remember.

Im 28 years old, happily married and have two kids my oldest is 8 and a baby of 9months old.. Prior to my last pregnancy I was 255lbs and after pregnancy I was 260 so I honestly was not aware I gained all that weight.

So today after 2 weeks of completely changing my eating habits and walking for 30-60 min a day walking hills up and down, I've lost 9, so I'm currently 269.

Im super anxious (and honestly i thought I was going to lose more weight this past two weeks) .. Like I know walking for 30-60min sounds very light but for me it's huge. Also I used to eat junk food on a daily basis.

As for my hubby he is helping me and he stopped eating junk food as well, but he is still eating carbs (he was 239 and after 2 weeks he's down to 227) so he's down 12lbs.

Just wanted to share and to know how were you feeling 2weeks preop

Welcome, Cristina!

I was anxious too, but I get anxiety pretty easily. I worried about what life would be like after surgery. It's been great, by the way. Hang in there. You'll be on the "losers bench" soon!

Welcome! I am now 8 years out from having the VSG! Weeks prior to surgery I was very nervous and anxious. One part of me was really excited about having a new life and a better future. The other part of me was so scared for my live to change. I think these feeling are pretty normal.

If I could travel back in time and talk to myself I would reassure myself that having wls would be the best decision I have ever made for myself.

Can't wait to hear from you as you continue your journey!

Welcome Cristina :)

I was quite nervous myself. I was doubting my choice pretty hard, too. I feel so much better a few years later. I'd do it again if I had the chance, but two weeks before I was pretty reluctant myself.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
